Smooth luffa is a rampant, fast growing annual vine that produces pretty yellow flowers and strange looking fruits that are edible when immature and used as back scrubbers or sponges when fully mature. The native countries of 10 Luffa sorts are Asia and Africa. Luffa (Luffa aegyptiaca Mill syn. L. cylindrica), also commonly called Loofah or vegetable sponge, is a member of the Cucurbitaceae family. It is an annual climbing vine which produces a fruit containing a fibrous vascular system. When separated from the skin, flesh and seeds, the system can be used as a bathroom sponge. In the dry state the luffa is excellently suitable for the massage of the whole body. Dry brushing is a proven procedure to promote blood circulation and prophylaxis. It is recommended to brush always toward the heart, beginning with the foot joints, then the legs upwards, the backside in circular motions, starting with the wrists along the arms to the shoulders. With a Luffa back sponge you also handle the often neglected back. Alternatives are fgloves or Pads from Luffa.

By the way, a few minutes of dry brushing can be easily integrated in the early morning bathroom ritual. It awakes grumps cheerfully, on regular application contributes to tighten the connective tissue. It prevents the development of dimpled skin and removes at the same time the dead skin scale. The skin gets smooth and more susceptive to creams. Besides, the sponge is also well suitable for the personal hygiene of Babies and toddlers. To keep your luffa sponge long nice, it needs to be rinsed thoroughly with clear water. When required the sponge can be washed in the washing machine (60°). The durability of the natural luffa is considerably higher than those of normal plastic sponges. They can be used for years, if they are washed out well after every use and then dried.

The peeling glove is suitable for beginners as well as for professionals with persistent applications. In the peeling glove “Extra Strong” there is woven camel and sheep hair, whereby the peeling effect is more intensive. These products are usually used in the traditional Hammam to remove the old skin. Afterwards the skin is washed with Aleppo soap.
